A family-owned building-supplies company in a small Ontario village believed the timing was right to expand. Initial roots dug deep with a legacy distributor, the business began as a modest operation under the leadership of a former retail executive. Soon it became clear that software would need to step up to support growth.
“We want to open another location,” said the owner, reflecting confidence built in part through his ERP system.
“Our customers come back years later and ask for the same stain. With our system we can tell them within minutes what it was and how much they bought.”
The business had been using an older accounting system before switching to Oneir's Linux-based ERP. The new solution proved to be much more than just financial software—it became central to operations, customer relationship management and supplier/customer integration.
Some of the specific benefits the company identified:
“That kind of customer-care... is the very essence of what we look for.”
